When Kathryn visited we decided we should have another get together here with more people. Thus the Fourth of July Weekend Church of Grundy Revival was born. 7 people and one dog made the trip to Bishop for this event from as far as Georgia (well, not just for this event) and a grand time was had by all. Things started on the 5th with the arrival of Ariel, Rob, Leah, and Stella. We went to a park and set up an 80M water line across a pond. It proved to be too hard for any of us to walk, but we got a bit of practice trying to stand up and taking a few steps. We also had a shorter line and did some acro in and out of the water. Later we moved the longline onto the land where it was shorter and a little easier to walk. Paul showed up before we headed back to the COG. There Willow and Kathryn had just arrived. After a dinner and a lot of talking we played "cards against humanity" and then sacked out.
After a leisurely breakfast and coffee we headed up to Rock Creek and the Iris Slab for a bunch of toprope climbing. Then the Bay Area contingent had to head back and the rest of us went to some hot springs. People were leaving just as we arrived and then others came as we were getting out - pretty good timing. Then back to the COG for more food and staying up late talking.
For a cloudy bonus day we went bouldering at the Happy Boulders - it was a bit hot but ok under the clouds. Then after lunch we went back to the park for more slacklining and acro. This evening we watched "Zoolander". The next morning the revival tapered off as we departed or prepared for a hiking adventure.
I think the Revival was a success and we will have to have another at some point.
