I didn't get to Kentucky as early as I would have liked and only got about 3 weeks of climbing in before I left for Thanksgiving. In general the weather was excellent with some glorious sunny days (and a few cold ones too). I managed to send a few new climbs, but didn't work on many harder climbs and got shut down by my continued attempts to send "Wild Gift" (which was a project I did not send last year). I certainly could have used another month or 2 with these conditions.
As usual it took about 2 weeks to get a start on the endurance to climb here. I think the ability to recover on decent sized holds is pretty critical (and something I had not been training much all summer). I also didn't have a lot of power, so it is no wonder I did not send a whole lot.
As usual I was staying at Miguel's, sleeping in my truck in the "North 40". It was a bit of a longer walk, but might have been a bit quieter and the sun hit a little earlier. We usually didn't get a very early start, but that left some time for stretching, slackline, and hacky sack. On rest days I mostly messed around on my computer, but I also took photos and went for a few trail runs in the nearby Natural Bridges State Park.
Usually I was either climbing or belaying, but sometimes I managed to get a few climbing photos. This first bunch is from "Funk Rock City". Did I mention the lovely weather? in case I didn't, the weather was mostly lovely, especially for November.
That's all for now, maybe I'll post up a few more pics later. There are more pics on some of my reports from the last few years too.
