In all honesty, you wouldn't tote this around the backcountry, unless the rest of the junk you were carrying were faberge eggs and you kept your water in latex balloons. Personally, my crampons come with me wrapped in a bit of cordura, and it works fine. But for the gram-unconcerned, this luxury carrier encases 24 sharps in thick felt and exterior cordura. Sealed with a bombproof metal zipper. Has lots of loops so you can choose how to attach it to your pack, and inside a velcro'd inner pocket holds bailing wire, spare bolts, and whatever bits and pieces you need to fix your crampons on the go.
